Abstract:

The literature specific to the relation between behaviour and mass media includes over one thousand titles along with a lot of resolutions and declarations of many international organisations.

The specific scientifical researches have mainly focused on the relation between mass media and the cognitive mintal functions (the difficulty of ditinguishing the real form from the imaginary one, especially with children; the diminishing of the intellectual quotient depending on the hours spent watching television, the diminishing of the power of articulating words and so forth) an the relation between mass media and behaviour (behavioral contagiousness effect learned by imitation, leading to action and so on).

From all studies undertaken there comes forth the causality and the action mechanism of mass media in increasing the rate of deviations and delinquency as being of mimic nature, of identification with the authors of violent scenes of catharsis as far as frustrations are concerned, etc.

To conclude we can say that relation between mass media (especially the television) and deviation is beyond any doubt a fact that leads to metaopenings and strategies for future, promted not only by scientific researchers (Mills, Popper, Heath, etc) but also by the numerous proposals of law abididngness of UNESCO and UNICEF resolutions.

Far from affecting the constitutional freedom of word, the exclusion of violence from mass media gains more and more scientifical support.
