The article starts with a presentation of the main stages of the establishment and extension of European institutions. The review of present laws and agreements makes it clear that the new Europe is an institution that has to put in concord with the economic interest in order to survive. Our paper takes into consideration the evolution of the main demographic factors related to European extension, of those related to territorial extension, together with the ones related to natural resources in energetics and agriculture. Our conclusion is that beyond sometimes contradictory statesments from some political officials, the extension of European Union represents a modality of facing the new economic situation highly marked by globalisation. |
