Editura: CugetareaCod ISSN: 1221-4876, pp. 207-211 Rezumat: The paper makes a brief survey of the references to the British literature (P.B. Shelley, G.G. Byron, J. Galsworthy, W. Shakespeare, O. Wilde, R. Burns, D. Defoe, W. De La Mare, W.B. Yeats, J. Conrad, H.G. Wells, G.B. Shaw, W. Congreve, A.C. Doyle) made in studies, book reviews, articles, notes, or even fragments of translations that were present in the pages of the prestigious literary magazine Ideea Europeana (European Idea), 1919-1928, which, as its name shows, was open to the cultural and literary achievements of other peoples in Europe. The specialists who signed these contributions were names of the Romanian letters such as Petre Grimm, Ioan Botez, Marcu Beza, or Dragos Protopopescu - the last one, who used to have a permanent column Corespondenta din Londra (News from London), being one of the most prolific and best informed specialists. He also contributed articles on the reception of the Romanian literature through translations in English. |
