REPERE CRONOBIOLOGICE IN BIOFIZICA CELULARA

Abstract:

This study points aut the main biophysical phenomena underlying the genesis of biorythms implied in the possible mechanisms of the cell molecular clock for which several models have already been sugested until now. The membrane model is undoubtly the most „biophysical” pattern of all, but the others – such as the coupled translation membrane model, the transcriptional or the chronon or the chronogene-cytochron one, the feed-back loop-network model, the mitochondrial and the strictly molecular ones-equally exhibit elements easy to be tackled from a biophysical point of view. The rythms coordinating the body’s life at ultrastructural level are principally confined to the altradian domain. The coupling of these basic oscillators made up of depolarization an repolarization requences, alternating transport processes, the succession of their phases and the resulting rythmical changes in ion concentration, including the particularly important proton gradient variations on both sides of the membranes, etc. – sets up circa – the circadian cellular oscillators, - confirm the rule. Mention also must be made of the fractal theory applied to biology considering the cellular clock as a strange attractor of a chaotic system. A concise but comprehensive example from the stomatological sphere enables finally a proper estimation of the advantages the chronobiological approach would offer, support and impose in physiology, pathophysiology and therapy before long.
