Abstract:

After a short presentation of the most relevant global and regional Human Rights documents and mechanisms, the paper is focused on the interpretation of the text prohibiting the torture or inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. In this respect the first step was to highlight the degrees of ill treatment and then to find the recent cases of the Court in order to exemplify different types of conduct.
