| MANAGEMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY Organizational structure “Mihail Kogalniceanu” University comprises The Faculty of Law with the following specializations : The Faculty of Law Full time courses for 3 and 4 years. University License Studies: - Law (4 years) - International Relations and European Studies (3 years) - MKU only organizes courses for the final years - Communication and Public Relations (3 years) - Geography (3 years) - MKU only organizes courses for the final years University Master Studies - Local Public Administration Law (1 year) - Criminal Sciences and Criminology (1 year) - Administrative Law and Human Rights (2 years) The Faculties and Specializations are organized in departments and specialized personnel. The departments comprise teaching staff grouped on disciplines who carry out educational and scientific research activities: The Department of Public Law; The Department of Private Law and Complementary Studies The Staff of International Relations and European Studies The Staff of Geography For the attestation of linguistic competences of students and graduates there is a Linguistic Department. THE SENATE OF THE UNIVERSITY The management organisms of “Mihail Kogalniceanu” University are eligible and confirmed by the Senate. The academic and financial management of the Universities is also conducted by the Senate. The Rector, Dean, Vice-Dean, the Department Directors are automatically appointed as members. Students represent 25% of the number of members. THE SENATE ASSEMBLY The operative management of the Universities is ensured by the Senate Assembly, comprising: the president, rector, chancellor, dean, vice-dean, the general-administrative manager and a students’ representative, member of the Senate. The Senate Assembly may also convoke the financial manager, the department directors, teaching staff, whose presence might prove useful. THE FACULTY COUNCIL The Faculty Council is made up of the Dean (acting as President), Vice-Dean, Scientific Secretary, Studies Manager, Chiefs of Staff and Departments, other appointed professors, students. All the details regarding the organization of the education related activities, structure and management of the Universities, the attributions and activity of the management organisms, the statute of the members of the academic community are stipulated in the University Charter and the respective Regulations. Universitatea "Mihail Kogalniceanu" din Iasi este o institutie de invatamant superior particulara acreditata prin Legea 137/2005. Absolventii Programului de studii universitare de licenta Drept sustin examenul de licenta in cadrul UMK, iar absolventii programelor de master sustin examenul de disertatie tot in cadrul UMK. Absolventii programelor universitare de licenta autorizate mai recent (Comunicare si relatii publice , Relatii internationale si studii europene) au dreptul sa sustina examenul de licenta in cadrul universitatilor cu care UMK a incheiat protocoale.
